Frond Plant Shop

2018 | Case Study

E-Commerce Web Design / Content Strategy / Photography

Frond is one of Austin’s favorite plant shops with over 18k followers on Instagram and 4.5 stars on Google.

I was hired to design and build a new e-commerce website, with the goal of increasing overall sales.

First, I observed.

What kind of language did the owner use with her customers?

What questions or complaints did the customers have?

Next, we worked on product photography.

How could we create a station that was quick and easy to use?

Was there a way to bring scale to the photos?

And what style worked the best for the products?

Then, I got started on the site.

A simple hero with a clear call to action.

The owner’s Pinterest board connected to the site via an API.

Category based browsing.

Product page with images and description.

Cart page with editing capabilities.

Checkout page using Shopify.

And just for fun, we added a wiggle to the shopping bag.

Outcome
